These images are produced when site photography is combined with a 3D model of the proposed development. By matching the camera position and lighting within the 3D scene to that of the site photographs these images are very effective in demonstrating a proposed development in context with existing buildings.
It is worth noting that photo montages can often be produced more economically than full 3D images and also that the showing of “before and after images” can often alleviate any anxiety and opposition for a difficult scheme.
When Photomontages are requested by planning authorities as Verified Views in support of a planning application, this will involve an additional site survey to identify the camera positions and height data of the site. Verified Views can then be supplied using a set and stated methodology at different levels of detail ranging from building outlines to fully matched lighting and photorealistic materials.
